Inspired by Purpose 50 S.A.E Fragrance NO.72 is an intensely woody, smoky, and resinous scent with a creamy, mineral-earthy depth. Formulated by perfumer Quentin Bisch, it takes the sharp, towering frankincense-and-pepper core of the original Purpose EDP and rounds it out into a richer, smoother experience on skin.
What It Smells LikeThe Opening:
It starts with a fiery, dry sparkle. Pimento berry and pink pepper give a prickle of warmth, cut through by bright bergamot and a sharp wave of raw frankincense. The Heart: As the sharp opening softens, a dry, papyrus-and-vetiver texture dominates. Unlike the sharp EDP version, Purpose 50 adds a thick, buttery sandalwood accord and a subtle, dark rose that smooths out the severe, mineral edges. The Drydown: Deep, persistent, and tactile. The woodiness of Akigalawood pairs with supple suede, warm saffron, and an added touch of vanilla. The vanilla doesn't make it sweet or food-like; instead, it provides a warm, skin-like creaminess under the dark, smoky incense.
